Erik Rieger, MD joined the St. Thomas More Physician Group in 2009. He is a general surgeon whose medical interests include general, vascular, thoracic and laparoscopic surgery. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the Society of LaparoEndoscopic Surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, the National Board of Medical Examiners and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Rieger earned his Medical Degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Biology with minors in Mathematics and Physics from Wichita State University, Wichita, KS.
After graduating from medical school, Dr. Rieger completed his residency at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine. His post graduate training included general surgery at the University of Chicago, Vanderbilt University, and Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. He completed a transplant fellowship at the University of California, San Diego and thoracic surgery at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, CA.
Dr. Rieger has been published in several publications and research journals.
